Our group studies the molecular regulation  of lipid and energy metabolism. We use a variety of cellular assays and mouse models to primarily study the development of atherosclerosis and metabolic diseases. Our group currently pursues four main lines of research:

  1. 1)Clarifying the role of the LXR-IDOL-LDLR axis in regulating lipid and energy homeostasis.

  1. 2)Identifying and functionally characterizing metabolically regulated genes, primarily those regulated by LXR and other members of the nuclear receptor family of transcription factors.

  1. 3)Identifying and functionally characterizing novel components of the ubiquitin-proteasomal system involved in maintaining lipid homeostasis and in human disease.

  1. 4)Studying the role of the E3 ubiquitin ligase LRSAM1 in Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease
